About Nikki

Nikki Gordon, MS, MA, LPC, REAT, CCISM, CCI

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and an EMDR International Association Certified Therapist and Approved Consultant. My experience as a therapist is non-traditional and ranges from providing crisis response and victim accompaniment during the initial presentation, reporting and law enforcement interview process in a hospital based sexual assault response unit, to being a co-located partner in a family justice center working with interpersonal violence victims and victims of violent crime. It was during that experience I had the unique privilege of developing a close working relationship with law enforcement and taking a special interest in their mental wellbeing. My practice specializes in mental health services for domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking victims, as well as first responders, veterans and active duty military members, and provide Critical Incident Stress Management and Debriefing.

I travel across the country facilitating EMDR trainings and consulting on law enforcement mental health, teach as an adjunct in the graduate psychology program at SNHU and Carroll University, and collaborate with the local sheriff's department to make culturally competent crisis and mental health resources accessible for law enforcement. I also provide consultation to law enforcement and district attorneys’ offices regarding the neurobiology of trauma and victim focused best practices.

I earned my Master of Science Degree in Community Psychology from Alverno College and a graduate certificate in Trauma Informed Care from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I hold a graduate certificate and a Master of Arts in Forensic Criminology & Criminal Justice from the University of Massachusetts-Lowell. II am certified in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) through UMBC, serve as a Field Traumatologist with the Green Cross Academy of Traumatology and I am certified in Crisis Intervention through the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress.

I volunteer with Copline, the EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Project, Give an Hour, and Therapy Aid Coalition, and previously served as the Ethics and Professional Development Chair of the Wisconsin Counseling Association.
